ABE/ASE Instructional Staff Pathway Checklist

Movement from one level to the next (i.e. Standards Proficient Instructor to Specialist) is contingent on meeting minimum requirements in the previous level. Therefore, all potential responsibilities and tasks accumulate as one navigates the pathway. Refer to this checklist as you progress through the pathway.

ABE/ASE Standards Proficient Training

Spring 2026 Cohort

There will be one ABE/ASE Standards Proficient Instructor training for Math or Language Arts cohort scheduled for Fall 2025 and one for Spring 2026.

ABE/ASE Specialist Training

Spring 2026 Virtual Cohort

There will not be a Specialist cohort for FY26. This training is currently being updated.

ABE/ASE Master Teacher Training

2025 Virtual Cohort

Each year beginning in February, a training cohort for ABE/ASE Master Teachers is offered in a virtual format. Eligible teachers will receive an email invitation in December. The current Master Teacher cohort will finish their work December 2025. A new cohort will not begin in FY26.
