Assessment Virtual Learning Community FY24

We are pleased to offer a new Virtual Learning Community (VLC) during FY24 on the topic of Assessment. The Assessment VLC offers support and information for all standardized assessments in Illinois. This includes: TABE, CASAS, BEST, and GED or HiSET tests. If you administer assessments, if you are involved in making programmatic decisions about assessment, if you analyze assessment results and data, or if you teach students based on the results of their assessments, then the Assessment Virtual Learning Community is for you!

This VLC is a way for adult educators and staff to network and collaborate about assessment issues, best practices, tips, and support. Our anticipated topics this year are:

• Moving Away from Paper Testing

• Using Remote Testing to Your Advantage

• Test Results and Reports

• New Tests for FY25

Each topic area in this VLC has resources and readings, a live virtual meeting with opportunities to share & learn, and a brief reflection assignment. Certificates of professional development are available to those who participate in the live meeting and complete the brief reflection assignment for each topic (1.5 PD hours per topic). We will also keep an ongoing Q&A discussion board where you can get your questions answered.
