Fall 2024 ELA Teacher Institute

This Institute will provide ELA instructors with effective standards-based teaching strategies to prepare ELLs with the English language skills needed for academic and workplace success. It will focus on best practices from Illinois classrooms and apply to both in-person and distance learning environments.

The Institute will consist of a virtual day of training with 4 presentations. Participants will select one or more sessions to attend.

Participants can earn an optional hour of PD with an assignment to apply techniques from the Institute to instruction in virtual or in-person classes.

Audience: ELA instructors at all levels

Virtual Day of Training: 9:30am - 3:30 pm, multiple sessions
