excellence in adult education

Sue Barauski has worked and administered professional development initiatives in ESOL, refugee and immigrant services, and adult education for over 30 years--most of those years as administrator of a state professional development agency, the Adult Learning Resource Center. She has managed many local, state, and national professional development and product development grant projects; management tasks included supervision of staff, budget management, and planning and implementation of new and continuing initiatives. She has coordinated numerous projects that involved collaborative partnering.

 

She currently oversees professional development projects funded by the IL Community College Board and DHS Refugee and Immigrant Services, in addition to an SOS State Library, Literacy Program grant to run the Illinois Adult Learning Hotline and coordinate a volunteer and student marketing campaign.


She holds a M.S. degree in Education from Northern Illinois University along with a J.D. degree from Loyola University, Chicago.
