Friday Forum - Stronger Together: Building Powerful ICAPS Pathways Through Partnership, Persistence, and Purpose

This session was originally presented at the 2026 Forum for Excellence and will be repeated virtually. It will share inspiring, practical, and replicable best practices that any Adult Education program can use to build strong Bridge and ICAPS pathways through intentional collaboration. At the heart of every successful program is the understanding that partnership is a two-way street; true growth happens when Adult Education, Title partners, community organizations, employers, and internal college departments work together through consistent communication, persistent follow-through, shared problem-solving, and an unwavering focus on student success through career placement. Through honest examples of both successes and setbacks across healthcare, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and education, this presentation will demonstrate how moving beyond isolated efforts can create powerful, student-centered systems that strengthen recruitment, improve completion, align resources, and open doors to sustainable careers.

Presented by Amy Elston, Adult Education Bridge and Transition Advisor, Waubonsee Community College
