Amber Fornaciari is an Educational Training Specialist at the Southern Illinois Professional Development Center, a part of the Illinois Community College Board Adult Education Professional Development Network. She holds a B.S. In Elementary Education with middle school endorsements from Northern Illinois University and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL endorsement from Concordia University.  

Amber has 12+ years of experience in Adult Education teaching all levels of ABE/ASE reading and math courses. She is credentialed as an ABE/ASE Master Teacher (Math) and holds several technology certificates such as a Google Educator level 1 and 2. In addition to this work, she has written and reviewed adult education math and language arts curriculum at the program and state level. Amber is a certified CASAS State Trainer and has presented this content at the program, state and national level. In 2022, she was part of the PDN team that won the State Innovation Award from CASAS for the development and execution of a State-wide Assessment Hub. She is an active member of the Adult Numeracy Network (ANN) as a previous board member, annual Institute presenter and ANN representative presenter for state conferences. She is also an active member of the AALPD, an organization for Adult Education professionals, and NCTM, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. 

Amber has designed and facilitated a variety of professional development opportunities for educators in live, virtual, asynchronous, and hybrid formats. She has presented at the local, regional, state, and national level on the topics of math instruction, CCR standards, contextualized curriculum, retention best practices, multidisciplinary teaching, educational technology resources, NRS assessment, and more.
