The English Language Acquisition Virtual Learning Community (VLC) provides a forum for ELA instructors to share teaching strategies and resources, learn from each other, and network. Each ELA VLC meeting focuses on a theme and will offer 2-3 short presentations followed by Q & A and discussion.

The theme for this ELA VLC is Assessment, including:

• Formative assessment activities: classroom based, teacher-made activities to assess students’ understanding and progress or to provide feedback
• Strategies to prepare students for post-testing:  

1.5 hours of PD are available for this event.
